We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Center for Science in the Public Interest.

The short explanation of this alert was:

Please urge Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID) to cosponsor the bipartisan Child Nutrition Promotion and School Lunch Protection Act, S. 771.  This bill would help get schools to stop selling junk food to kids.  It would do this by calling on the U.S. Department of Agriculture to bring its nutrition standards for foods sold out of vending machines, school stores, and a la carte in line with current nutrition science.  It would also apply those nutrition standards to all foods sold on campus throughout the school day.

Senator Crapo needs to hear from his constituents that Idahoans want soda and junk food out of schools.  Please contact Senator Crapo and ask him to cosponsor this school nutrition bill.  We encourage you to personalize or adapt the model letter below.  Thank you in advance for your help.
