Ask Congress to Improve School Foods
Take the "Junk Food in Schools" quiz!
The current nutrition standards for foods sold out of vending machines, school stores, and a la carte lines are outdated and allow for the sale of many unhealthy foods in schools.
Your Senators and Representative in Congress need to hear directly from you that the U.S. Department of Agriculture's definition of junk food in schools is outdated and needs to be fixed.
Please take a minute to send a letter to your Senators and Representative. Ask them to cosponsor the bipartisan Child Nutrition Promotion and School Lunch Protection Act. This bill would update school nutrition standards to bring them in line with current nutrition science, and to apply those standards throughout the campus and school day.
