We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Center for Science in the Public Interest.

The short explanation of this alert was:

In September, 2007, the California State Senate narrowly defeated a bill, AB 97, that would have required restaurants and bakeries to phase out trans fat from their food. Your state senator voted against this bill. Fortunately, we will have another opportunity to pass this bill - but we need your help. The senate will vote again on this bill, perhaps as early as this month. Please send an email to your state senator urging him/her to vote in favor of this bill. Just click on the link below to send an email. Help make California the first state in the country to phase-out trans fat in restaurants!

Would you be willing to meet with your state senator in person regarding this issue? If so, contact Julie Greenstein at jgreenstein@cspinet.org or 202-777-8331.  We will set up the meeting for you and train you, if necessary. No prior experience necessary!
